Literacy

Here you can find out more about what we all get up to in our literacy learning.

Clay Animation

LA2 children have been learning about writing narratives. They have started animating their stories using clay animation.

This term we have been working with children from our buddy class to make clay animations. The stories have been based on the school vision statements we are exploring with our buddy class ready for an open day presentation.

The Argument is based on one of the school vision statements that we have been learning about. Can you tell which one?

The Argument

This animation ‘The Chocolate Wrapper’ is based on the school vision statement ‘ Students understand how the choices they make affect themselves and others’.

The second team to make a clay animation was a group of receptions. Click on the link below to see the animation by KH, SP and SH.

Caterpillars!

This week we had caterpillars at the observation table.
Children read information in books to find out more about caterpillars. They also used magnifying glasses to look closely at little creatures. Here are some examples of the work produced this week at the observation table.

Snails!

This week we had snails at the observation table.
Children looked at non-fiction books to find out more information about snails.
Here are some examples of diagrams children in LA2 made. Some children have also included information about snails that they found out from their reading.
Did anyone find out anything about snails that they didn’t know before?
